It’s a wee bit cooler upstairs where our gift from heaven window air conditioner is pumping out the chill so that’s where I read the am papers. From the big chair up here, I can see across to this fairy tale looking rooftop poking above the tree line. The house is white with dormer windows, a red roof and a honey colored brick chimney. Like the cottage I’d see materialize over the rise during a country drive. All morning-glory-trellisy outside with a hint of cooling homemade pie and a golden retriever on the invisible porch.

Update… There’s that part of the story where I’m creeping up the rickety stairs toward the door with what looks like claw marks raked down the front.
