Surround yourself with the best people and then get out of their way.

My prayer of yesterday was answered with abundance today.

That’s a nice way of saying that I woke up this morning with so many ‘clarion calls’ that I’m befuddled in choosing one.  Which means that it’s time for me to rely on some tried and true tenets for moving forward.  This morning will be, “Surround yourself with great people, work with them on what you each need to have happen and then get out of their way.”  That worked really well for us at the Faire.  Have you met any of the Bristol Directors and cast?  Then, you know it’s true.

Today, I will ask for fundraiser crew leaders.  When I break it down into components, this is a small (ONLY in organizational scale – NOT in importance) project compared to Bristol, so these crew leaders aren’t going to be overly tasked.  But, if we’re going to be effective in putting the fundraiser together, I need to create that uber-functional fundy team.

And, then get out of their way.

Shall we dance?

Significantly,

Susan Scot Fry

  1. This Significant task has been beautifully realized today. It’s not quite fully realized, but it’s well on the way to being so.

We have a House Manager, a Show Manager, a PR and Marketing Manager and A Donations Manager. We have leads on pre-event and event Auction Managers. We have a number of volunteers all set to populate the crews for these folks.

We do need a number more people, but … WOW!

It’s coming together! I’m so glad I focused on this today!
